SUMMARYIn partnership with the Director of Nursing, oversees all aspects of unit operations including supervising nursing staff and monitoring resident care. Responsible for coordination of nursing care and facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Supervises nursing care provided by Nurses, Nurse Aides and others for whom they are professionally responsible.· Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.· Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality resident care and staff performance.· Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care.· Evaluates responses of residents to nursing interventions.· Knows the rationale for the effect of medications and treatments, and correctly administers same.· Facilitates the resolution of issues and concerns associated with resident care, including family issues.· Assist with RAI process including MDS, CAA and care plans. · Conducts regular audits as requested by the Director of Nursing· Participates in quality assurance activities including huddles· Supervises HCC and AL dining room meal service as assigned· Attends Medicare meetings· Provides health education to residents and their families· Prepares and maintains monthly skin assessment report and audits skin sheets on a weekly basis· Completes all required forms and documents in accordance with Calvin Community policy, state and Federal regulations. Includes uploading resident documentation and month-end paperwork and printout of doctor visit assignments· Ensures new staff accounts are created in Matrix· Responsible for pathology lab setup for new nurses and new resident demographics.· Maintains/monitors resident data including vital statistics, weights, bath lists, seating charts and event interventions.· Routinely audit EMAR, ETAR, Med Cart and Treatment Cart.· Responsible for monthly Restorative Nursing documentation, Restorative Aides and monthly RA meeting.· Coordinates in-facility resident visits with Senior Dental Health representatives, foot doctor, and telehealth.· Assists Charge Nurses with preparation of admission/discharge orders when needed· Performs general nursing duties in cases of emergency or staffing shortagesQuestions?
