Pretzel Strawberry Salad

  • Makes 18 servings. Garnish with leaf lettuce and a fresh strawberry for a beautiful spring salad.
  • Ingredients:
    • 4 cups Thin pretzel sticks, broken up
    • 1/4 cup Sugar
    • 3/4 cup Margarine, melted
    • 16 ounces Cream cheese, softened
    • 1 1/3 cups Powdered sugar
    • 1 cups Whipped topping
    • 16 ounces Strawberry gelatin
    • 2 1/2 cups Hot water
    • 20 ounces Frozen strawberries
  • Instructions:
    • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine pretzel stick pieces, sugar, and melted margarine. Spread in the bottom of a 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool.
    • Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread this mixture over pretzels.
    • Combine gelatin and hot water and mix until blended. Add strawberries and cool until thickened. Pour over cream cheese and chill until set.
