Medical Records/Supply ClerkCalvin Community, a leader in the long-term care field, is seeking an exceptional candidate for this newly created position of Medical Records/Supply Clerk. The Medical Records Clerk maintains the medical records in accordance with State and Federal Regulations as well as professional standards of practice and facility policies and procedures to ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical records. The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for managing all aspects of the medical patient records.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete in accordance with HIPAA.Prepares resident charts and gathers information and documents for physicians, staff, and insurance companies.Creates and imports medical records electronically.Filing of paperwork and reports of residents quickly and accurately.Processes the records for admitting and discharging residents.Perform all purchasing functions for health care operations including issuing purchase orders (POs), pricing verification, price comparison monitoring and expediting orders, and payment authorization.Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolve shipments with errors.Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures and internal controls in order to maximize efficiency and reduce operations costs.Conduct audit of inventory, develop inventory analysis reports, analyze variances and other metrics, and present findings to management.This position will also serve as a float/back up to the scheduler. Educational Requirements:2+ years experience preferred in medical terminology/medical records and inventory control process.High school diploma required; Associates degree in Medical Record Technology preferred; Completion of classes in medical terminology and knowledge of HIPPA.Must be detail oriented, organized, creative, and strive for excellence.Questions?
