Director of Nursing Assisted Living

SUMMARY:In partnership with the Director of Health Care Services, oversees all aspects of unit operations including supervising nursing staff and monitoring resident care. Responsible for delegation and coordination of nursing care, and facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Supervises nursing care provided by Nurses, Nurse Aides, and others for whom they are professionally responsible.Reviews and implements all nursing procedures and systems.Assesses and evaluates the systems which facilitate the delivery of quality resident care and staff performance.Delegate new staff within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.Uses a systematic approach in the nursing process to outline all services needed by the tenant on service plans.Performs quarterly medication review.Evaluate responses of residents to nursing interventions.Knows the rationale for the effect of medications and treatments, and correctly administers same.Facilitates the resolution of issues and concerns associated with resident care, including family issues.Assist with the admission process, annual, quarterly, significant change assessments and ensure service plan is current (Health, Functional, Cognitive).Conducts regular audits as requested by the Director of Healthcare Services.Participates in quality assurance activities including huddles.Attends Medicare meetings.Provides health education to residents and their families.Completes all required forms and documents in accordance with Calvin Community policy, state and Federal regulations. Includes uploading resident documentation and month-end paperwork as needed.Ensures new staff accounts are created in Matrix.Responsible for pathology lab setup for new nurses and new resident demographics.Maintains/monitors resident data including vital statistics, weights, and bath lists.Routinely audit MAR, TAR, Med Cart, and Treatment Cart.Participates in the annual delegation.Ensures timely staff completion of 8-hour annual dementia training.Ensures occupancy agreements are signed and updated as needed.Coach and lead Assisted Living staff.Review and approve staff schedules.CDAC/insurance completion as needed.Facilitate monthly staff meetings.Interview candidates for employment.Is available to work overtime when needed. Performs general nursing duties in cases of emergency or staffing shortages.Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Calvin Community values.All other duties as assigned.Questions? Contact us.
